Yolo Superior Court Issues Important Notice on Court Operations "" COVID-19

Landry, County of Yolo Superior Court of The State of CaliforniaWOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The Superior Court of California, County of Yolo has implemented an emergency order signed by Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye which provides that the Court will remain open with reduced calendars.
The order will modify calendars and operations as follows:
• Clerk windows will be closed.
• Self-Help Center will be closed. Parties may email important matters to a designated email for Pro Per litigants found on the Court’s website.
• All traffic cases will be continued and you will receive notice in the mail of a new date.
• If you are scheduled for jury service during this period, your service will be rescheduled. Notice of the rescheduled date will be mailed to you.
• If you need to seek an emergency order for any matter, including Civil, Family Custody, Guardianships, Domestic Violence, Workplace Violence, Gun Violence, Civil Harassment and Elder Abuse please review instructions for Ex Parte hearing requests on the Court’s website.
• All out-of-custody Misdemeanor Arraignments will be continued and you will receive notice in the mail of a new date.
• All criminal cases with No Time Waivers (preliminary hearings) will be heard in Department 1.
• All other criminal matters will be continued and you will receive notice in the mail of a new date.
• All other Civil and Family Law matters will be continued and you receive notice in the mail of a new date.
• All Juvenile in-custody arraignments will be in Department 2.
• All urgent Civil and Family matters will be heard in Department 2.
All Court hearings will be subject to continuances pursuant to the Chief Justice Executive Officer which will be posted on the Court’s website.
This order will remain in effect until, at least, April 1, 2020.
Access to justice is an important right of each citizen. The decision to limit functions within the court was made based on state and federal health officials and in an effort to protect the public and staff from exposure to COVID-19.
Further adjustments may be made to the court’s calendar, depending on the changing circumstances of the public health threat of COVID-19. The court will monitor the situation and continue to consult with the Judicial Council and local public health officials. Please check the Court’s website at www.yolo.courts.ca.gov for updates.
