Starting on March 13, the Yolo County Children’s Alliance and partners are hosting free tax preparation events on Saturdays until April 10

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Tax day is only a few short weeks away, and the Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA), United Way, and the City of West Sacramento are working together to host three in-person Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) events. With the pandemic placing a large portion of our community into uncertain times, assistance navigating the daunting process of filing taxes is just one way we are working together to help those in need. The VITA events will be held at centralized locations and are appointment-based. Tax preparation and filing assistance will be offered in English, Spanish, Russian, and Farsi to help as many in our community as possible. “Many West Sacramentans have faced difficult times and financial hardship during the pandemic, so getting the most out of our tax returns is vital to survival, and to starting on the road to recovery,“ said City of West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero. “One of the key aspects of these tax events is that we work with the Yolo County Children’s Alliance to provide accessible assistance in several languages: English, Spanish, Russian, and Farsi to serve our diverse population.” 

Due to the COVID-19 climate, Yolo County Children’s Alliance staff continues to offer virtual tax preparation assistance and limited in-person assistance Monday - Thursday.
