WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - On Thursday, October 13, 2022, the West Sacramento Police Department had an opportunity to pause and recognize our new hires and promotions over the past year.

These new officers, and newly promoted supervisors and staff will help to shape the future of our department. The department is honored that they chose and continue to choose to be a part of the West Sac PD Family.

Chief Rob Strange included the following message in the event program: “It goes without saying that the past couple of years have been some of the toughest battles many of us have witnessed in our lifetimes with social unrest, and the everevolving COVID-19 Pandemic; both of which have deeply impacted our lives, personally and professionally, and the community we serve.

I am immensely proud of how our department has handled these challenges head on and navigated the rapidly evolving recommendations, guidelines and policies that have been born of the current pandemic; working diligently to maintain officer safety, and prevent and adjust for Covid-19 exposure, and sickness.

Our focus on wellness and professional development has allowed us to not only maintain but thrive during these difficult times. It is a testament to this dedication that we can be here today to formally welcome new members to the West Sacramento Police Department family and acknowledge the accomplishments of those who have been promoted during this difficult time. It is equally important that we have the opportunity to thank the families of our staff, for sharing with our department and city your husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters for your commitment to and support of them, and this profession.

The most important resource that our agency has is its people. As we continue to navigate in often unchartered waters, our command staff is committed to ensuring that each member of our department has the tools and support they need to ensure that we continue to provide the level of service that our community deserves. Thank you all for your service. Please be safe. Chief Rob Strange.”
